Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis II will support the Production team in preparing high‑quality food for guests at Desert Islands Resort & Spa. Working under the direction of the Sous Chef, Executive Chef or Chef de Partie, the role focuses on delivering excellent service while maintaining strict hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and production across all kitchen sections.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and ensure tasks are completed to brand standards.
• Maintain HACCP procedures and keep accurate records at all times.
• Support stock taking, rotation and cost‑effective use of resources.
• Monitor food waste and implement measures to minimise it.
• Coordinate with catering and stewarding departments to meet event objectives.
• Uphold personal grooming, hygiene and code of conduct standards.
