Contract Paralegal (Art Law, 3-4 Months)

About the role

Christie's is hiring a Contract Paralegal for a 3 to 4-month assignment within its Asia Pacific Legal team, reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, APAC. The role is based in Hong Kong and covers art law, art finance, general commercial issues and compliance topics.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on art law, art finance, general commercial issues and compliance topics such as data privacy, AML, sanctions and labour law.
• Draft non-disclosure agreements, demand letters to debtors and other commercial contracts based on global templates.
• Support copyright clearance and other intellectual property matters, including tackling online infringement.
• Liaise with artist representative associations and colleagues in the relevant departments.
• Assist with translations and template management.

Required profile

• Final or penultimate year student or graduate of an LLB or other LLB dual degree.
• Prior experience in in-house legal teams, barristers' chambers or law firms is preferred.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, adapt quickly and work independently; excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Chinese word processing software is a prerequisite.

The closing date is 31 January 2027, and the salary range is HKD 20,000 to 22,000 per month.
