Corporate & M&A Associate (Hong Kong)

About the role

The Hong Kong office of Jones Day is seeking an experienced Associate to join its global Corporate & M&A practice. The role offers the chance to lead and support high‑profile cross‑border M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions while working closely with international teams.

Key responsibilities

• Take an active role in leading and supporting complex M&A, PE, and VC transactions and corporate commercial matters.
• Work closely with cross‑border practice groups to deliver integrated legal solutions across jurisdictions.
• Participate in client networking, pitch preparation, and market visibility initiatives.
• Manage files independently and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment.

Required profile

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer with around 5 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate and M&A.
• Hands‑on experience driving high‑value, complex transactions.
• Deep knowledge of Greater China’s regulatory and legal landscape relevant to M&A, plus strong command of international cross‑border transactional principles.
• Native/fluent English required; proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is highly advantageous.
