Data Architect – Enterprise Data Platforms

About the role

We are looking for a senior Data Architect to define and maintain enterprise‑wide data architecture standards for modern data platforms. You will shape the design of data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses and integration patterns that support business, operational and analytical use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain architecture standards, reference architectures and roadmaps for cloud‑based data platforms.
• Design scalable data lake, data warehouse and lakehouse solutions and govern their implementation.
• Lead data modelling activities (conceptual, logical, physical) using dimensional, Data Vault and operational techniques.
• Establish data‑governance, data‑quality, metadata, lineage, security and privacy frameworks.
• Collaborate with product owners, data engineers and downstream teams to align data contracts with business requirements.
• Provide architecture guidance and design reviews for data pipelines, APIs, messaging and platform enhancements.
• Drive platform scalability, performance tuning and cloud cost optimisation across databases and storage.
• Promote modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, automation and observability.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture or related fields.
• Proven ownership of enterprise‑scale data platform design and implementation.
• Hands‑on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure or equivalents).
• Strong knowledge of distributed processing technologies (e.g., Spark).
