Demi Chef – Western Banquet

About the role

Join the culinary team at a prestigious St. Regis hotel in Hong Kong as a Demi Chef for the Western Banquet operation. You will work in a fast‑paced kitchen, preparing high‑quality dishes for banquet events while supporting senior chefs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, ensuring presentation and quality standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness and maintain food safety records.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect tools, surfaces and equipment.
• Assist with portioning and plating, and ensure proper storage of all food items.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions for an entire shift.
• Commitment to follow safety, hygiene and company policies.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients accurately.
• Knowledge of food safety and temperature control.
