Deputy Editor – Ignites Asia

About the role

Financial Times’ Ignites Asia is a daily news service for asset‑management professionals across Asia. As Deputy Editor you will lead reporting on a fast‑changing sector, produce original stories and step in to edit and publish the newsletter when required.

Key responsibilities

• Cover the asset‑management beat and deliver around four original stories each week.
• Build and maintain a network of sources across asset managers, fund distributors, institutional investors and regulators.
• Edit colleagues’ copy, uphold editorial standards and ensure accuracy under tight daily deadlines.
• Publish the Ignites Asia newsletter in the Managing Editor’s absence.
• Travel occasionally across Asia for reporting assignments.

Required profile

• Proven experience covering asset management, financial markets or a related sector.
• Track record of breaking news and producing original journalism.
• Strong editing experience and sound news judgement.
• Ability to work accurately under daily deadlines.
• Established contacts within the asset‑management ecosystem (advantageous).
• Willingness to travel within Asia and a collaborative approach to newsroom work.
