Deputy IT Manager / System Administrator

About the role

The bank is seeking a Deputy IT Manager / System Administrator to maintain and enhance its critical IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and robust disaster recovery across its Hong Kong operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage server operating systems, middleware, SAN storage, virtualization platforms, and data backup solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, troubleshoot incidents and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Shell) and define backup strategies while verifying backup integrity.
• Develop policies, standards, procedures and manuals; participate in daily project planning and implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher; industry‑recognized technical certifications preferred.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience with server OS, middleware, virtualization, SAN storage and backup software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical thinking and ability to work independently under pressure.

• Server operating systems: Windows Server, SUSE Linux, Red Hat Linux, Kylin.
• Middleware: WebSphere, Liberty, Tomcat, Nginx, BES Application Server.
• Virtualization: VMware, FusionCompute.
• SAN storage management.
• Backup software: NetBackup.
• Scripting: Python, Shell.
