Deputy IT Manager / System Administrator

About the role

The bank is seeking a Deputy IT Manager / System Administrator to maintain and enhance its critical IT infrastructure across server operating systems, middleware, storage and virtualization platforms. The role involves designing high‑availability solutions, ensuring disaster‑recovery readiness, and supporting daily project implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage server OS (Windows Server, SUSE Linux, Red Hat Linux, Kylin), middleware (WebSphere, Liberty, Tomcat, Nginx, BES Application Server), SAN storage, virtualization (VMware, FusionCompute) and backup solutions (NetBackup).
• Design, implement and maintain High‑Availability (HA) and Disaster‑Recovery (DR) architectures.
• Monitor system performance, capacity and security; conduct root‑cause analysis for incidents.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Shell) and define backup strategies.
• Create and update policies, standards, procedures and manuals; track emerging technologies and recommend optimisations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher; industry‑recognised technical certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with at least one of the listed server, middleware, virtualization or backup technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is advantageous.
• Meticulous, responsible and able to adhere to bank policies and regulations.
