Design Liaison Representative – Electrical/Building Services Engineer

About the role

The Design Liaison Representative (DLR) will be based at the Airport Authority’s office or an assigned site office on Airport Island. Working closely with Arup’s design team, the DLR provides on‑site engineering and design support throughout the construction phase, ensuring timely statutory submissions, shop drawing development and rapid response to design queries.

Key responsibilities

• Expedite statutory submissions and prepare responses to urgent or minor design issues.
• Issue Design Acceptance Notices (DANs) and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Develop and review shop drawings, coordinate drawing revisions and ensure compliance with Authority requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between Arup, the Authority’s Representative and other project stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of works to avoid delays, disruptions or additional costs related to design issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, ELV or Building Services (or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical, ELV or building services design.
• Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in the relevant discipline.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
