Design Manager – Multidisciplinary Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Design Manager will lead multidisciplinary design coordination and integration for a major infrastructure programme in Hong Kong. Reporting to senior project leadership, you will ensure that all design outputs are consistent, fully integrated and meet project, operational and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coordination across civil, structural, architectural, building services, E&M and system‑related disciplines to align design outputs with overall project objectives.
• Establish and maintain the design management framework, including submission protocols, review workflows, comment tracking and decision records.
• Maintain the integrated design baseline, control configuration changes and ensure consistency of assumptions and parameters across contracts.
• Organise and chair technical design reviews, addressing interface requirements, constructability and safety considerations.
• Manage interface and requirement compliance, integrating authority comments and operational constraints.
• Collaborate with BIM and CDE teams to drive digital design coordination using federated models and clash‑avoidance tools.
• Identify and escalate technical risks, non‑compliances and design issues, supporting timely resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading design coordination on large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering disciplines and their interfaces.
• Excellent knowledge of design governance, configuration control and documentation standards.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
