Director – Global Air Procurement & Solutions

About the role

The Director of Global Air Procurement & Solutions will shape and execute the worldwide air freight procurement strategy, driving growth, market share and profitability for the organization. Reporting to senior corporate leadership, this role leads global procurement teams and partners with airline executives to secure strategic capacity and incentive programs.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement the global air procurement and solutions strategy to support corporate objectives.
• Lead global procurement and solutions teams, aligning cross‑regional senior leaders with operational and commercial goals.
• Negotiate high‑value block‑space agreements and volume‑incentive programs with major airlines.
• Design tender/RFQ solutions and rate strategies for major global accounts, overseeing commercial productization of air freight.
• Govern global pricing‑desk policies, rate structures and capacity commitments with final commercial authority.
• Drive air freight transformation initiatives, including rollout of digital tools and hub network optimisation.
• Collaborate with vertical product heads to align buying power with industry‑specific solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Sales & Marketing or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in air freight and logistics, including senior leadership with global or multi‑country scope.
• Proven track record in carrier procurement, capacity strategy and negotiating block‑space or volume incentive agreements.
• Expertise in commercial product development, pricing‑desk governance and tender/RFQ solution design.
• Successful experience in air‑freight network planning, gateway footprint optimisation or transformation projects.
• Strong matrix management abilities, analytical and decision‑making skills in a fast‑paced global environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Experience using modern enterprise logistics management applications.
