Director of Business Development

About the role

Carry1st is expanding its payment technology beyond gaming into high‑growth consumer digital and direct‑to‑consumer markets across Africa and the Middle East. As Director of Business Development you will own the end‑to‑end deal cycle, from pipeline creation to closing, and help turn the company’s industry‑expansion strategy into a repeatable go‑to‑market motion.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales process – build pipeline, open senior relationships, negotiate and close deals that unlock new global markets.
• Translate the initial expansion strategy into a prioritized target‑account and outreach plan focused on high‑volume consumer‑facing enterprises.
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior decision‑makers such as VPs of Product, Heads of Strategy and Commercial Executives.
• Communicate the value of Carry1st’s products, address objections and adapt messaging to diverse customer needs.
• Validate buyer use‑cases, messaging and commercial assumptions through active conversations.
• Maintain a robust pipeline in a CRM, forecast outcomes and ensure accurate reporting.
• Hand‑off new clients to the Implementation team while preserving a commercial relationship for renewals and expansion.
• Collaborate with Product and Implementation teams to feed market insights back into the commercial playbook.

Required profile

• Proven experience owning the complete deal cycle in B2B enterprise sales.
• Track record of building pipelines and closing high‑value contracts with senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of emerging‑market consumer demand in Africa or the Middle East.
• Ability to translate strategic plans into actionable outreach and sales motions.
