Duty Engineer – Hotel Engineering

About the role

The Duty Engineer joins the Engineering team at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, ensuring the hotel’s facilities run smoothly and safely. You will supervise trade foremen and technicians while providing prompt support to guests and internal colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with Fire, Life, Health, Safety, and Security (FLHSS) standards.
• Participate in the Emergency Response Team and handle urgent incidents.
• Execute scheduled maintenance tasks according to the hotel’s plan.
• Maintain, repair, inspect, and record all hotel equipment.
• Supervise and support the Plant Technician and other technical staff.
• Liaise with other departments and external contractors as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering certificate holder.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in luxury hotels or club houses.
• Electrical Worker License Grade A (or higher) and Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Strong written English and Chinese communication skills.
