Executive Director, Government Relations

About the role

As an Executive Director in Global Government Relations, you will shape the policy environment across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, you will advise senior leaders on geopolitical and regulatory developments, represent the firm externally, and build trusted relationships with governments, industry, and civil society.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional government‑relations strategies that support business priorities and responsible growth.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on political, regulatory, and legislative developments across Asia Pacific.
• Advise senior leaders on risk scenarios, engagement opportunities, and strategic implications.
• Communicate the firm’s perspectives through briefings, roundtables, speaking engagements, and written materials.
• Build and sustain senior‑level relationships with governments, regulators, diplomatic missions, multilateral organisations, trade associations, think‑tanks, and policy fora.
• Coordinate internal advocacy positions to ensure consistent external messaging.
• Manage external consultants and advisory firms to deliver clear outcomes.
• Represent Global Government Relations in cross‑firm forums and regional leadership discussions.
• Identify senior‑leader engagement opportunities during international travel and support travel as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in government, public policy, government relations, trade associations, diplomacy, or external‑facing roles within multinational organisations.
• Demonstrated experience in the Asia Pacific market and understanding of multi‑jurisdictional policy‑making processes.
• Working knowledge of the Washington, DC political environment and policy‑making process.
• Proven ability to build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships across public and private sectors.
• Leadership experience managing and developing diverse, cross‑cultural teams.
