Financial Accountant

About the role

Schroders is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its North Asia finance team (excluding Japan). The role will support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post accounting journals and maintain accurate records.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities for several entities.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and follow up on outstanding items.
• Maintain data integrity across finance systems and assist with statutory financial statements.
• Coordinate supporting information for external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and finance procedures.
• Assist with expense claims, purchase order processing and operating expense monitoring.
• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements and finance transformation projects.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers on finance and reporting matters.
• Perform ad‑hoc finance, reporting and operational duties as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (HKICPA, ACCA, AICPA or equivalent) preferred.
• 2‑3 years of experience in external audit, financial accounting or financial control, preferably within fund houses, PE/VC or asset management.
• Good understanding of IFRS/HKFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Chinese.
