Human Capital Generalist - Hong Kong

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a Marsh business, is hiring a Human Capital Generalist in Hong Kong. The role delivers day-to-day human capital operations for Hong Kong and supports the wider regional HC team, covering onboarding and offboarding, payroll and benefits administration, HRIS and employee data management, statutory and compliance matters and general employee support. It reports to the Human Capital Manager, North Asia & Greater China.

Key responsibilities

• Support employees and managers with day-to-day HR queries, and partner with Talent Managers on onboarding, status changes, leave, transfers and offboarding
• Handle employee relations matters, including ER and compliance investigations and exit processes, with escalation to the HC Manager and Legal and Compliance where needed
• Manage HR operations across the employee lifecycle, coordinate payroll and benefits with external vendors, and maintain accurate employee data and documentation
• Identify process improvements and use digital tools, AI and automation to reduce manual work and improve efficiency
• Support the implementation of regional and global HR policies and initiatives locally

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience as HR operations personnel, ideally in a multinational or globally matrixed organisation
• Practical experience of employee lifecycle processes, payroll and benefits, HRIS and employee support
• Good understanding of Hong Kong employment laws and HR best practices
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, Industrial Relations or a related field
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills, with a proactive interest in process improvement and AI

Required skills

• Experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms is desirable
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and confidence with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude
