Legal Counsel (Consultant)

About the role

Our client, a leading professional services organisation, is looking for a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel (Consultant) to join its APAC legal team in Hong Kong. The role supports business operations across Greater China and the wider Asia‑Pacific region, providing practical legal guidance on a variety of commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements such as customer, supplier, technology, procurement, services, marketing and confidentiality contracts.
• Provide day‑to‑day, business‑focused legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Support regional business initiatives and address regulatory matters.
• Identify and manage legal and contractual risks while enabling commercial objectives.
• Liaise with external counsel when required.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 5‑12 years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm and/or in‑house setting.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English, with the ability to draft documents and negotiate in Mandarin.
• Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Proven ability to deliver pragmatic, solutions‑oriented legal advice.
• Experience supporting Greater China business operations is highly desirable.
• Based in Hong Kong and eligible to work there.
