Legal Counsel

About the role

Longbridge is seeking a Legal Counsel to act as the primary legal partner for its business units, supporting product development, regulatory compliance, commercial contracting and dispute management across Hong Kong and other jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice throughout the product lifecycle, including design, go‑to‑market strategy and cross‑border risk assessment for fintech, AI and SaaS solutions.
• Manage day‑to‑day operational risk, licensing, data compliance, IP protection and marketing matters.
• Represent the Legal Department on regional and global initiatives, coordinating with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
• Lead drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial agreements such as client contracts, vendor agreements, strategic partnerships and SaaS service agreements.
• Maintain and improve the group’s contract templates and playbooks to ensure commercial robustness and compliance.
• Advise on regulatory and licensing requirements in Hong Kong and other relevant jurisdictions, monitor updates from bodies such as the SFC, HKMA and CSRC, and prepare internal compliance summaries.
• Assist in regulatory inquiries, audits and submission preparation.
• Oversee group‑level litigation and disputes, develop defence strategies, prepare case materials and recommend settlements.
• Supervise external counsel to ensure cost‑effective representation.
• Support corporate governance, board and shareholder resolutions and finance‑related legal matters.

Required profile

• Qualified legal professional with experience in financial services or fintech environments.
• Demonstrated ability to advise on regulatory compliance, licensing and cross‑jurisdictional issues.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and managing litigation.
• Strong coordination skills with internal teams and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
