Legal Counsel

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Legal – Asia, the Legal Counsel provides high‑quality, commercially focused legal advice to LexisNexis’ Hong Kong and Taiwan businesses. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, managing legal matters and stakeholder relationships while keeping senior legal leadership informed of material issues.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely, accurate, and concise legal advice that protects business interests.
• Monitor and interpret relevant legal, regulatory and policy developments, identifying risks and proposing practical solutions.
• Participate in Legal Department planning and help achieve strategic and compliance objectives.
• Provide training and conduct legal clinics for business units.
• Influence business decisions through trusted guidance, balancing legal risk with commercial goals.
• Collaborate with APAC, US, Europe legal teams and external partners to resolve issues.
• Escalate significant legal, regulatory, financial or reputational risks to the Head of Legal – Asia.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or another recognised jurisdiction.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple high‑priority matters.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
