Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel (Senior level) to join our in‑house team in Hong Kong. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support across the business, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and handling disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and revise company contracts and other legal documents to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain standardized protocols for legal document review and template libraries.
• Provide daily legal consultation to business departments and respond to legal enquiries arising from business operations.
• Participate in legal due diligence for major strategic decisions, identify potential legal risks and propose feasible solutions.
• Handle daily legal disputes of the company (including labor arbitration, contract breach disputes, etc.) and assist external solicitors in litigation or arbitration proceedings where necessary.
• Regularly optimize the company's legal compliance framework, organize legal and compliance training, and ensure daily operations align with statutory requirements.
• Manage and liaise with external law firms.
• Perform other ad‑hoc duties assigned by the company.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law or a related legal discipline.
• 3–7 years of in‑house legal experience in Hong Kong.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong company law, contract law, labor law and related regulations, with solid hands‑on experience in contract drafting, legal risk analysis and dispute handling.
• Excellent logical thinking and written communication skills, with the ability to understand business needs and manage stress.
• Experience in the financial services sector is preferred.
