Manager, Mega Events Development & Advancement

About the role

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is seeking a proactive Manager to lead the development and advancement of mega events that enhance Hong Kong’s tourism profile. Working closely with the Senior Manager, you will ensure that large‑scale events align with strategic tourism objectives and contribute to the city’s economic and social goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing major events, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for event organisers, addressing enquiries and providing comprehensive support.
• Manage logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and permit acquisition.
• Support marketing and promotional strategies to maximise tourism visibility.
• Monitor event progress, prepare pre‑event agreements and post‑event evaluations, and maintain accurate records.
• Liaise with authorities, stakeholders, and market intelligence sources to inform event strategies.
• Contribute to other sectors, particularly sports, as directed by management.

Required profile

• University graduate with at least 8 years of relevant experience in marketing, public relations, business administration, event management or related fields.
• Strong understanding of the sports industry and its relevance to tourism (advantageous).
• Excellent coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in event‑management processes and stakeholder coordination.
• Familiarity with obtaining permits and regulatory compliance for large events.
