Principal, Consumer, Telco and Technology – Hong Kong

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a Marsh business, is hiring a Principal for its Consumer, Telco and Technology practice in Hong Kong. Principals provide day-to-day leadership of complex client projects and parts of the client relationship and commercial process, teaming with Partners, and act as trusted advisors to senior clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process, sharing responsibility for the success of specific engagements
• Ensure on-time delivery that meets or exceeds agreed goals, using Oliver Wyman best practice, your own expertise and the firm's technical competence
• Support the Partner group in project delivery through accurate, high-quality case execution
• Identify new and expanded opportunities and build business
• Create intellectual capital through thought leadership and share knowledge across adjacent topics
• Develop others and build a strong personal brand within and outside the firm
• Guide the consulting team through hypothesis development, client research, interviews, insight derivation and deliverables
• Lead firm-building activities and serve as a role model for firm values

Required profile

• Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in Retail, Consumer Goods, Telecommunications and Technology, preferably at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or a comparable organisation, or through industry experience in a strategy department or in-house consulting function
• In-depth knowledge of the sector, gained through industry experience or other consultancy houses
• Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
• Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to use content knowledge for thought leadership and business development
• Outstanding communication skills and confidence presenting to senior executives
• Willingness to travel
