Project Engineer (Mechanical & Quality)

About the role

Canopy is looking for a hands‑on Project Engineer to lead mechanical and quality activities for its home‑wellness products in Hong Kong. You will bridge design concepts from the US team to the factory floor, guiding prototypes through to mass production with our contract manufacturers in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Xiamen.

Key responsibilities

• Translate US design concepts into manufacturable parts, refining CAD models in Onshape and reviewing tooling drawings for draft and wall‑thickness issues.
• Collaborate with tooling engineers on gate and ejection decisions, proposing alternative designs when necessary.
• Plan and execute Engineering Validation Test (EVT), Design Validation Test (DVT) and Production Validation Test (PVT) builds, defining pass criteria and reporting results.
• Develop and run Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA), create test plans and acceptance criteria, and lead root‑cause investigations for field failures.
• Partner daily with US design, engineering and supply‑chain teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience taking products from prototype to mass production.
• Comfortable working on a factory floor and interacting with Chinese contract manufacturers.
• Strong analytical mindset for quality engineering and failure analysis.
