About the role
The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a Manager, Public Affairs to lead Mainland media relations and communications. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Manager, the role focuses on generating both quantitative and qualitative media publicity for the Club across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing strategic media programmes that promote the Club’s racing excellence, equine industry contributions and community initiatives.
- Develop and distribute press releases, statements and other content, proactively pitching stories to secure media coverage.
- Provide on‑site support during major racing events and campaigns to facilitate accurate media reporting.
- Plan and manage engagement activities, draft event briefings and coordinate logistics to ensure smooth execution of media events.
- Support the team in expanding digital presence and managing communication efforts in Mainland China, including content strategy development.
- Maintain and nurture constructive relationships with Mainland media outlets and stakeholders.
- Travel to the Mainland or other regions as required to support media initiatives.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in media relations, public affairs or corporate communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; familiarity with Mainland media landscape is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
