Regional Medical Affairs Associate Director – APAC

About the role

Ascendis Pharma is looking for a passionate Associate Director to lead medical affairs across the APAC region. The role will support International Markets partners, build long‑term relationships with key physicians and sites, and drive medical strategy and tactics for rare disease programs.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the scientific expert for medical affairs across APAC and design regional medical strategies.
• Develop and implement tactical plans, clinical and real‑world evidence programs, and lifecycle management activities.
• Oversee compassionate‑use programs, grants, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Establish and nurture relationships with KOLs, key centres, and external vendors.
• Lead medical education initiatives for the APAC region in collaboration with therapeutic area leads.
• Collaborate with internal medical, commercial, and business operations teams and provide mentorship to medical staff.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with 7+ years of medical affairs experience.
• Substantial knowledge of rare diseases and experience in international markets.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder‑management, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational capabilities.
