Relationship Manager Private Banking (Hong Kong)

About the role

The Relationship Manager Private Banking (RM) is the main point of contact between clients and the bank, acting as its external ambassador. The RM manages a portfolio of High Net Worth and/or Ultra High Net Worth private clients, delivering comprehensive wealth management solutions while handling routine enquiries and transactions. The role also involves acquiring new client relationships, mentoring junior team members and acting as part of the first line of defence against risk.

Key responsibilities

• Serve clients to the highest standard, responding promptly and professionally and tailoring contact frequency to client preference
• Provide investment advice in line with the bank's policies and asset allocation
• Deliver client feedback on products and services to the relevant specialists and take part in client initiatives and marketing strategies
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients, deepen relationships and grow revenue through cross-selling and additional share of wallet
• Manage at-risk clients and build succession strategies to reduce attrition and generational transfer losses
• Ensure compliance, ethical behaviour and sound risk management, including high-quality KYC, timely clearance of alerts and escalation of issues to front management or the second line of defence

Required profile

• Proven track record in servicing a book of clients and acquiring new relationships
• Sound affinity with the geographic market(s) to be covered and willingness to travel
• Relevant regulatory licences from the HKMA/SFCC
• Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) certification preferred
• Good judgement, ability to work under pressure and autonomy in planning and organising work
