Income Reconciliation Accountant

About the role

Animals Asia is seeking a qualified, detail-oriented Income Reconciliation Accountant to own its digital and physical income ecosystem and financial reconciliations. The role manages high-volume payment platforms, keeps accounting records accurate and timely, and acts as the bridge between the fundraising team and finance. It suits someone comfortable in a lean NGO environment who strengthens systems and solves problems proactively.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend new income platforms and workflows, update CRM records, reconcile donations and grants, and draft annual donor statements
• Reconcile all payment platforms (e.g. Stripe, PayPal, Global Payments, BBMS) and record revenue transactions, fee breakdowns and journal entries accurately
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, tax and financial rules in relevant jurisdictions, support audits and donor assurance activities, and help with period-end closing
• Improve accounting systems, reporting and data structures, and identify automation and standardisation opportunities
• Build templates, dashboards, checklists and process documentation, and coordinate with the fundraising team so records across systems match

Required profile

• Understanding of relevant accounting standards; IFRS knowledge desirable
• Exposure to different GAAPs or statutory environments (Hong Kong, Mainland China, Vietnam, UK, US or Australia) is an advantage
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, including complex reconciliations, analysis and reporting
• Familiarity with Sun Accounting or similar ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Power Query or other reporting tools is an advantage
