Research Assistant (Statistics/Data Science)

About the role

A 24-month contract Research Assistant position in East Kowloon, advertised by AR Solution Ltd. on behalf of the Department of Health. It suits people with a background in statistics or data science who want to apply their skills in a large-scale, impactful setting, ensuring data integrity, performing quality assurance and helping evaluate public health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide statistical support to the Partnership Programme for Community Engagement, including compiling, validating and reconciling NGO submissions and supporting the allocation and distribution of related goods
• Assist in quality assurance: maintain and validate registries and databases, monitor trends, detect operational issues and take part in quality check visits
• Take part in programme evaluation: statistical analysis, structured data reports and dashboards
• Support triple elimination initiatives with data input, extraction, validation and presentation/report compilation
• Carry out ad hoc projects and assignments requested by the DH representative

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Public Health, Statistics, Data Science or a related subject
• At least two years of experience handling large-scale data and analysing complex data is an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• High proficiency in Microsoft Access

Working hours are 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), 08:00-18:00 or 08:30-18:30, with a one-hour meal break not counted as working time. The salary is HK$20,000 per month.
