Research Officer – Synthetic Chemistry & Chemical Biology

About the role

We are seeking a Research Officer to join the Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology (LSCCB) at Hong Kong Science Park. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biomedical and clinical scientists, driving projects in synthetic chemistry, drug discovery and molecular diagnostics, with a focus on cancer research.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute synthetic routes for novel molecules and metal‑based therapeutics.
• Lead collaborative research projects spanning chemistry, biology and clinical applications.
• Develop and apply analytical methods such as mass spectrometry, proteomics and metabolomics.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Mentor junior scientists and supervise laboratory activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Biomedical Science or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or project‑lead experience.
• Strong publication record in at least one of the listed research areas.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
