Retirement Consultant (MPF Background)

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Retirement Consultant for its Wealth team (retirement pension), part of its people and investments business, based in Hong Kong. It is a hybrid role with at least three days a week in the office. The consultant supports corporate sponsors in managing their long-term benefit schemes, balances cost against adequate coverage and develops actuarial consulting skills.

Key responsibilities

• Build knowledge of valuing liabilities for pension and long-term severance benefits under the Hong Kong pension regime and long-term benefits in other Asian markets.
• Support or lead projects such as M&A due diligence, retirement benefit review and benchmarking, and ad-hoc retirement and long-term benefit projects.
• Use technical and actuarial skills and market knowledge to advise clients on options to manage their long-term benefit schemes.
• Carry out research and analytics to form local views on issues of interest to clients, applying findings to recommendations under the guidance of more experienced colleagues.
• Support new business initiatives and development activities.
• Keep up with MPFA regulations affecting the financial planning industry, and carry out initiatives such as drafting and managing industry surveys with minimal supervision.
• Mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a numerical subject such as Mathematics, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 7+ years of proven experience in the retirement field, with strong knowledge of the MPF market; ORSO background is an added advantage.
• Ability to manage vendors, and strong communication, analytical and technical skills, including handling large amounts of data efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Self-motivated, with strong personal management and the ability to estimate task times for senior management reporting.
