Senior Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Senior Human Resources Officer will support the management and leadership team in handling a wide range of HR issues. This full‑time position is based at Marriott International’s Hong Kong office and involves assisting with employee transfers, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist management and leadership with resolving HR issues and employee relations.
• Process internal and external transfer requests and coordinate hiring activities.
• Conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and SSN verification.
• Maintain applicant flow logs, orientation records, and transfer request documentation.
• Create and manage new‑hire and personnel files in the HR Information System.
• Support new‑employee orientation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal hiring laws.
• Maintain accurate employee records, including interview documents and I‑9 forms.
• Assist with payroll record processing as needed.
• Generate HR data reports and handle phone inquiries professionally.
• Serve as HR subject‑matter expert on project teams and train new hires on HR processes and systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related HR experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
