Senior Pre-sales Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Networking business is looking for a Senior Pre-sales Engineer (Consulting Systems Engineer) in Hong Kong. The role is hybrid, with about two days per week spent in an HPE office. The engineer acts as a subject matter expert in areas such as Mobility, Security or Branch, advising customers on end-to-end technical designs that meet their business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Build technical proficiency across the HPE Networking portfolio: Aruba wired/wireless, ClearPass, Central, Juniper Mist, switching, routing, security and automation.
• Partner with sales teams to understand customer needs, design solutions and deliver technical presentations and demos.
• Create architectures and proposals aligned with customer objectives and lead proof-of-concept (POC) activities.
• Take part in advanced training and certifications to deepen expertise in HPE and Juniper technologies.
• Work with internal teams and partners to position and adopt solutions successfully.

Required profile

• Proven track record in the technical pre-sales process and in selling complex enterprise solutions to large enterprise and/or government accounts.
• Excellent presentation skills, able to explain highly technical concepts to executives and technical decision-makers.
• Experience presenting at technical roadshows and industry events, and leading POCs.
• Strong network of relationships and strategic account-level sales approach.
• Technical-sales experience with Account Executives and a background in selling advanced networking and security solutions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of network architectures, cloud-based solutions and security architectures.
• Working knowledge of AI-driven networks, automation, campus and branch networks, wireless networks, security, SD-WAN, MPLS and data-centre architectures.
• Relevant HPE Juniper experience and certifications are desirable, ideally covering Juniper Mist, EX, QFX, SRX, MX, ACX, PTX, JUNOS and cloud solutions.
• Equivalent knowledge of other vendors' equipment is considered.
