Senior Tax Manager – Financial Services (Banking & Insurance)

About the role

KPMG China is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join its Business Tax Advisory practice focused on the financial services sector, specifically banking and insurance. You will work within a collaborative, future‑forward environment, providing high‑quality tax advice to high‑profile clients and contributing to the firm’s innovative tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size, acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating deep knowledge of the financial services industry.
• Oversee risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and budgeting.
• Lead teams of tax professionals and assistants, ensuring effective follow‑up strategies and high‑quality delivery.
• Provide tax advice, stay current with technical developments, and market new solutions to clients.
• Represent KPMG in external market and business activities, presenting a positive image of the firm.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with a professional accounting or legal qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of Hong Kong or international tax experience, preferably in financial services.
• Proven track record of managing and developing staff, business development, and autonomous work.
• Strong client‑management skills and ability to lead teams through delegation, coaching, and mentoring.
• Excellent presentation skills with fluency in written and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
