Senior Tax Manager, HK Tax

About the role

The Senior Tax Manager will lead Hong Kong profits tax, domestic minimum tax and employment tax compliance for the organization. Based in Hong Kong, the role reports to the Head of Regional Tax Reporting and the Head of HK Tax within the Asia and Middle East tax team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee corporate tax reporting and compliance for all in‑scope Hong Kong entities.
• Manage HK domestic minimum tax compliance, governance and related reporting.
• Coordinate with Controllership, Financial Control and FinOps on material tax issues and validate tax numbers.
• Identify, review and challenge uncertain tax positions in the reporting portal.
• Prepare tax forecasts, stress‑tests and financial reporting for HK entities.
• Brief the Regional Tax Reporting team before and after quarter‑end activities and support external audit processes.
• Handle tax payments, correspondence, enquiries and audits with the Inland Revenue Department.
• Liaise with business tax teams, country tax teams, Treasury and other stakeholders on tax matters.
• Provide second‑line expertise on HK employment tax, either directly or via external advisors.
• Support governance obligations and attend relevant tax committees.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional with extensive experience, preferably from a top‑tier advisory firm or large financial institution.
• Deep knowledge of Hong Kong profits tax, domestic minimum tax and international tax concepts.
• Strong understanding of IFRS tax accounting principles.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions without a formal reporting line.
