Service/Project Engineer – Smart Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Service/Project Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure team, focusing on electrification and automation of substations. The role involves on‑site troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance and testing of automation RTU systems, as well as supporting project delivery and client communication.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site troubleshooting, device configuration, maintenance, repairs and testing & commissioning of substation automation RTU equipment.
• Deliver assigned project activities on schedule, providing regular updates to the Project Manager and client stakeholders.
• Participate in a rotational standby roster that may include nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety rules and quality standards.
• Diagnose technical issues using specialized tools and equipment.
• Support the engineering team in preparing technical manuals and documentation.
• Carry out ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or above in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/electronic/control and automation engineering.
• Strong communication skills in English (and Chinese is a plus) and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Willingness to develop deeper competence in substation RTU and automation.

Required skills

• Automation RTU/PLC systems.
• Industrial communication protocols: DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850.
• Control and Automation Systems and SHEQ system implementation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD.
