Summer Internship 2027 - Global Markets

About the role

MUFG Bank, Hong Kong Branch is offering a Summer Internship Programme 2027 in its Global Markets stream. The internship gives practical exposure to the fast-moving financial markets environment, working alongside colleagues across relevant desks and functions, and helps interns decide where their career should go.

Key responsibilities

• Support market and product research, data analysis, desk reporting and the preparation of briefing materials.
• Monitor market developments and help summarise key trends, movements and potential business implications.
• Gain exposure to different Global Markets areas and learn how teams collaborate to support clients and manage market-related risks, including taking part in client events and meetings.
• Contribute to assigned projects and presentations while developing analytical, communication and technical skills.

Required profile

• Penultimate-year student from a reputable university with strong academic results.
• Students studying Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative disciplines are preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets, macroeconomic developments, treasury or trading-related activities.
• Fluency in English is required; fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate key observations clearly.
• Willingness to learn, work accurately in a fast-moving environment and show a proactive, can-do attitude.

Required skills

• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of quantitative analysis and technical tools such as Python, SQL, VBA or other data analytics and programming tools is an advantage.
