Systems Engineer – Server & Network Infrastructure

About the role

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining the company's server and network infrastructure. You will work closely with application teams to ensure reliable, secure and high‑performance services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers, including rack‑mount and blade systems.
• Design, implement and manage LAN, WAN, VLANs, firewalls and Fibre Channel switches.
• Deploy and administer VMware vSphere and Sangfor environments, managing ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines and storage.
• Configure and maintain SAN/NAS storage systems to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Plan and execute upgrades, patches and firmware updates with minimal downtime.
• Implement backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Manage network security policies, access controls and firewall rules.
• Document configurations, network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Write automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline routine tasks.
• Explore AI‑powered tools to improve monitoring and incident response.
• Provide first‑level technical support for infrastructure incidents and service requests.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in server, network and infrastructure administration.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching and Fibre Channel.
• Experience with server hardware setup, rack installation and data‑centre operations.
• Familiarity with SAN, NAS and backup solutions.
• Willingness to learn and use scripting languages for automation.
• Good documentation skills and ability to produce clear technical guides.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.
