Teaching Assistant – Hourly Position

About the role

The British Council Hong Kong Teaching Centre is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support classroom activities for Very Young Learners. This hourly role works alongside qualified teachers to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with material preparation and classroom set‑up.
• Supervise children during lessons and reinforce classroom rules.
• Model appropriate behaviour and encourage student participation.
• Manage customer flow and direct queries to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Clear communication skills in Cantonese.
• Basic understanding of English instructions.
• Preferred education: HKDSE, GCSE or equivalent.
• Passion for working with young children and experience caring for them.
• Availability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays as needed.

Required skills

• Ability to follow simple English classroom language.
