Temple Clothing Supervisor

About the role

The Temple Clothing Supervisor ensures that all clothing and linen supplies used by temple patrons are clean, well‑maintained, and available according to temple standards. Reporting to the Temple Recorder, the supervisor leads both paid staff and volunteers in daily laundry operations while managing inventory and budget constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clean, well‑kept clothing and linens to meet temple quality standards.
• Supervise, train, and schedule employees and volunteers for laundry tasks.
• Operate and oversee commercial laundry equipment, including sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding.
• Manage clothing inventory, develop an annual replacement plan, and monitor supply levels of chemicals.
• Coordinate with vendors, control costs, and ensure operations stay within budget.
• Utilize computer tools for training, communication, and inventory tracking.
• Implement safety procedures and keep laundry areas organized and hazard‑free.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Temple Recorder.

Required profile

• Member of the Church with a current Temple Recommend.
• At least three years of relevant experience in supervisory, commercial laundry, or customer‑service roles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Physical capability to lift 30 lb, stand for long periods, and perform demanding tasks.
• Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English is preferred.
• Flexibility to work Saturdays, public holidays, or evenings as needed.
