Temporary Research Assistant II – Nursing & Health Sciences

About the role

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Hong Kong Metropolitan University seeks a Temporary Research Assistant II to support a funded project on swallowing health and postural exercise for community‑dwelling older adults. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator to ensure the study’s smooth execution over a nine‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on swallowing health, shear wave elastography, and craniovertebral angle assessment.
• Recruit and screen community‑dwelling older adults for participation in the study.
• Assist in delivering and monitoring the 8‑week integrated intervention program.
• Collect, organize, and manage quantitative and qualitative data.
• Perform basic statistical analyses and assist with data interpretation.
• Provide general research support, including documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social science, psychology, statistics or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with SPSS (advantageous).
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a research team.
