Tenure-Track Clinical Professor – Breast Surgery

About the role

Applications are invited for a Tenure-Track Clinical Professor position in Breast Surgery within the Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine. The appointment starts as soon as possible on a four‑year fixed‑term basis, with the possibility of renewal and eventual tenure consideration.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of teaching, research, clinical service and departmental administration.
• Foster academic collaborations both within the university and with external partners.
• Develop and pursue strategic initiatives to advance the department, faculty and university.
• Support the development of the HKU‑Shenzhen Hospital, including occasional travel to Shenzhen.

Required profile

• Specialist qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a Specialty Fellowship in Surgery (or equivalent).
• Senior breast surgeon with a proven record of clinical excellence.
• Distinguished research record with high‑impact publications, competitive grants and international recognition.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum development, mentorship of early‑career researchers and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Preferable experience in administrative leadership and management within academic or healthcare settings.
• Fluency in Cantonese, Putonghua and English for direct patient communication.
