Vice President Credit Trader – Global Markets

About the role

UOB Hong Kong is looking for an experienced Credit Trader at the Vice President level to join its Global Markets team. The role involves managing a credit trading book, executing trades, and generating revenue across the APAC region while adhering to risk and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and actively trade a portfolio of credit products, including corporate bonds and derivatives across multiple sectors and geographies.
• Develop and execute trading strategies to optimise P&L while managing market and liquidity risk.
• Conduct credit research and analysis on issuers, sectors and market trends to identify opportunities.
• Provide market commentary and insights to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Maintain relationships with institutional clients, counterparties and internal sales teams to expand market share.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and risk limits.
• Collaborate with other desks, research teams and risk functions to capture cross‑asset opportunities.
• Contribute to the development of new trading tools, strategies and market‑access initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree or CFA preferred.
• 5‑10 years of direct credit‑trading experience within an investment bank or financial institution.
• Proven track record of consistent profitability and strong risk management.
• Extensive knowledge of credit products, market structures and trading strategies.
• HKMA Type 1 and 4 licence; membership in Treasury Markets Association is a plus.

• Proficiency with Bloomberg terminal.
• Proficiency with Refinitiv Eikon.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation techniques.
• Advanced analytical and quantitative problem‑solving abilities.
