Vice President – Natural Resources Investment Banking (Hong Kong)

About the role

As a Vice President in Natural Resources Investment Banking, you will lead client‑facing execution and origination activities across Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, and Mining & Metals sectors. You will work closely with senior bankers to deliver M&A, capital‑raising and strategic advisory solutions while building long‑term client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of sell‑side and buy‑side M&A, capital raises and strategic advisory assignments from kickoff through closing.
• Own critical workstreams such as due diligence, transaction risk evaluation, valuation, financial modeling and strategic assessment.
• Draft and quality‑control core deliverables including pitch books, confidential information memoranda, management presentations and board materials.
• Manage due diligence processes, data‑room setup, Q&A coordination, expert calls and site visits, tracking issues and risks.
• Coordinate internal and external parties—coverage and product partners, legal advisers, accountants, consultants, lenders, investors and counterparties—to keep processes on schedule.
• Coach and develop Analysts and Associates, delegating tasks, reviewing work for accuracy and ensuring consistent standards.
• Support senior bankers in client coverage by tracking sector developments, maintaining client‑specific materials and preparing for meetings.
• Contribute to origination by identifying portfolio optimization, consolidation themes, joint‑venture structures, asset divestitures and capital‑structure solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of investment banking experience with proven execution in Oil & Gas and/or Power & Renewables.
• Track record of leading M&A and/or capital‑markets transactions.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to handle multiple live workstreams under tight deadlines.
