Volunteer SEO Consultant (Remote)

About the role

Effective Altruism Hong Kong is seeking a volunteer SEO Consultant to help improve the visibility of its GiveWise platform and related sites. This remote, short‑term engagement focuses on creating a prioritized SEO roadmap and supporting content teams to reach donors and volunteers across Hong Kong and the region.

Key responsibilities

• Audit the current website and broader online presence, covering technical, on‑page, off‑page and GEO‑relevant factors.
• Develop a clear, prioritized SEO roadmap for the next 3–6 months.
• Conduct keyword research on topics such as effective altruism, charity, philanthropy, global health, development and poverty alleviation.
• Assist in shaping a content strategy that expands reach among donors, volunteers and other stakeholders.
• Recommend and, where feasible, implement technical SEO fixes (indexing issues, sitemap, robots.txt, site speed, mobile‑friendliness, broken links).
• Structure key pages so generative AI can extract accurate answers and cite EAHK as an authoritative source.
• Collaborate with content and social media teams to ensure new articles, event pages and resources are search‑optimised and AI‑friendly.
• Identify low‑risk, high‑quality backlink opportunities to strengthen SEO authority and GEO signals.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting SEO audits and developing strategic roadmaps.
• Familiarity with non‑profit or charitable organisations is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote teams.
