2027 MBA Summer Intern - Credit Research Analyst, APAC

About the role

PIMCO, a global leader in active fixed income investing, is recruiting a 2027 MBA Summer Intern for its Credit Research team in the APAC region. The internship is based at the Hong Kong office and runs for 10 weeks from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration. You will work alongside seasoned credit analysts, supporting their coverage responsibilities while learning about the industries they follow.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate industries and companies to support investment recommendations for the portfolio managers group
• Provide analytical support to portfolio managers by highlighting risks
• Support credit analysts in their coverage responsibilities across investment-grade bonds, high-yield bonds, bank debt and convertibles
• Take part in the PIMCO Fundamentals training week and the Global Month of Volunteering
• Use AI-powered tools from day one and take part in mid- and end-of-summer reviews

Required profile

• Pursuing an MBA in Finance and Economics or a related quantitative/analytical field, or an equivalent advanced degree
• Ability to start full-time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 and August 2028
• Fluent English and willingness to work in the Hong Kong office
• A 1-2-page original investment recommendation (debt or equity) for the interview process

Required skills

• Research and basic financial modelling
• Interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and investment finance
• Strong written and oral communication
• Curiosity and experience using emerging technologies and AI tools
