Area Director Finance

About the role

The Area Director Finance acts as the primary business partner for all financial matters across the hotel portfolio, working closely with the Area General Manager and the Executive Committee. This senior position ensures robust financial control, strategic analysis, and compliance with corporate and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior hotel leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision‑making.
• Prepare and submit timely financial reports to the corporate office and Wharf Holdings.
• Analyse business development opportunities and provide financial insights for strategic planning.
• Oversee insurance matters, internal controls, and IT support for hotel operations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in line with legal requirements.
• Coordinate licensing applications and ensure statutory compliance.
• Develop the annual budget, monitor budgetary control, and manage corporate profit‑tax filings.
• Lead and train accounting staff, monitor departmental manpower planning, and handle ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Tertiary education with recognized accounting qualifications and professional certification.
• Minimum 8 years of management experience in finance.
• Strong communication, leadership, and business acumen.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
