Assistant Manager, People Development & Knowledge Management

About the role

OOCL is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead people development and knowledge management initiatives across the organisation. You will design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes that build both soft‑skill and functional capabilities, working closely with headquarters and global HR teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development initiatives, including design, implementation and evaluation of soft‑skill, functional and e‑learning programmes.
• Plan and deliver “just‑in‑time” customised learning solutions (e‑learning and face‑to‑face) to meet organisational and functional needs.
• Manage and optimise the global e‑learning platform to improve engagement, accessibility and learning effectiveness.
• Review and align people development frameworks with global standards.
• Oversee the internal trainer pool and support global leadership and talent programmes.
• Administer training budgets, allocate resources and ensure cost‑effective execution.
• Prepare management reports and analyses.
• Handle new projects and ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in learning and development, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Proven experience designing, delivering and administering learning programmes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and detail‑orientation in a fast‑paced setting.
• Self‑motivated, independent and collaborative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua.
• Experience developing internal trainers is an advantage.
