Assistant Plant Manager - Wastewater Treatment

About the role

Green Valley Landfill Limited, a joint venture with Veolia Hong Kong & Macau, manages the South East New Territories (SENT) Landfill and its extension, converting landfill gas into electricity, fuel and synthetic natural gas. It is looking for an Assistant Plant Manager based in Tseung Kwan O to oversee the treatment plant's day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate leachate processing activities and manage 24/7 shift assignments for treatment operations
• Oversee filtering systems, biological treatment units and coagulating/settling basins
• Set up emergency response procedures for equipment failures and power outages
• Lead engineering and technical teams on maintenance projects and service delivery
• Develop equipment specifications and modification plans to improve efficiency
• Manage technician schedules, run preventative maintenance programmes and monitor performance data
• Carry out other ad hoc projects assigned by management

Required profile

• Degree in E&M, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 7 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations or E&M project site work and progress monitoring, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
• REW Grade B / H or above
• Green Card, driving licence (1, 2) and other industrial qualifications preferred
