Assistant Vice President, Global Markets Operations

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting an Assistant Vice President for Global Markets Operations in Hong Kong. The role oversees daily processes of the global market operations team, supporting the Team Lead in routine settlement supervision, and contributes ideas for process improvement. It combines hands-on operational work with strategic oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational duties as a checker, ensuring transaction processing, confirmations and payments are accurate and timely.
• Support the Team Lead in monitoring Deal Booking Control, Fund Settlement, Financial Booking and Post-Deal Control.
• Assist in supervising routine global market settlement work, adhering to internal strategies, overseas unit policies, circulars, AML guidelines and compliance protocols.
• Collaborate with the Team Lead to review and improve operational procedures.
• Follow standard operating procedures to comply with local, Japanese and foreign regulations, including AML, DFA and HKMA-RMS.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports or take part in special projects as assigned by the Department Head or Team Lead.
• Ensure strict adherence to Service Legal Agreements during normal business.

Required profile

• Tertiary education or above.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in global market functions or similar environments.
• Proven experience in global market operations, with strong regulatory compliance awareness.
• Fluency in both Cantonese and English.

Required skills

• Comprehensive understanding of global market products and up-to-date knowledge of AML requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
