Assistant Vice President - PEMA (Private Equity M&A)

About the role

Marsh is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join its PEMA (Private Equity Mergers & Acquisitions) team in Hong Kong. PEMA is a global team of risk and insurance advisors focused exclusively on private equity and alternative investment firms, infrastructure funds and strategic investors, covering fund-level risk, M&A transactional risk and investment portfolio risk.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients to maintain, strengthen and expand the client base.
• Build and maintain a professional network with peers and stakeholders in relevant industries.
• Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to prospective and existing clients.
• Work with insurance specialists to perform insurance due diligence for clients and financiers.
• Collaborate with insurance specialists to structure and deliver insurance solutions for M&A transactions and other client risk scenarios.
• Ensure all insurance placements comply with applicable regulations, internal policies and audit requirements.
• Support the team with ad hoc projects, analysis and tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• 5+ years of experience in the M&A field from a Big Four, financial advisor or legal firm.
• Willingness to network and build relationships with clients, advisors and industry peers.
• Interest in and willingness to develop in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Ability and commitment to obtain the required insurance certifications for the role.

• Comfortable presenting and pitching to advisors and clients, in person and virtually.
• Strong written skills, including drafting reports and preparing clear presentation decks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration across departments and specialist teams.
